When trying to pull off an ultra sexy look, one can’t merely rely on the outfit to send the message. You have to come equipped with the attitude–and the age–to back it up.
These five celebs veered outside their usual styles into dangerously dirty territory, but were they red carpet bombs or bombshells? Hear me out, then leave your own dazzling opinions in the comments.
Demi, Demi, Demi…if the neckline of this Lanvin dress was five inches narrower, it would’ve been my favorite style of the night. But she’s showing so much cleavage that it’s distracting and, to be frank, it looks like she needs some serious support and I don’t just mean from an honest stylist…
I do not find Miz Minaj to be the epitome of grace, but I must admit, she surprised me with her red carpet look. This sequined leopard-y print dress is mod and sexy, and I would totes love it…if it covered just an inch or two more. A hem should fall where your leg starts to widen and NM’s is far above that, making it less flattering than it could be. But, I do adore her simple hair and makeup. Baby steps, n’est ce pas?
Mr. & Mrs. Smith is one of my favorite movies–I especially adore the scene where Angelina Jolie is dressed up as a dominatrix for an assassination. But. That doesn’t mean I appreciate Ariana Grande’s impression. This head-to-toe leather look is just a bit too sexy for someone of AG’s age; she doesn’t seem to have the vibe to pull it off. Perhaps in a few years, Ari, but for now, leave the S&M to the big girls.
Every where I turn I see crop and skirt combos–so over it–but LH puts a new spin on the tiring trend by pairing a leather halter with a long leather skirt rather than something skimpy. While I like that it’s unexpected, the length of this skirt is awkward. Too long for tea length, too short for a maxi, it hovers at her ankles in a strange way. Sorry, Lucy, I adore you but I can’t pretty little lie.
I typically hate to even consider putting Kylie Jenner on my well-dressed list, but I don’t hate this black dress. While I am loathe to encourage her upsetting goth phase, the dress is sexy without being too slutty…sort of. I don’t really think that it’s approps for a 17-year-old socialite to go braless in a low-cut dress on a red carpet (or anywhere for that matter), but is KJ so wise beyond her years that she’s the only teen on Earth who can pull off such a mature look?
