Blake Lively’s Website Is Officially Here!

Time to add a new bookmark, darlings. Blake Lively’s lifestyle site Preserve is officially live as of today! Thus far, I’m hearing a lot of positive reviews mixed with some confusion about the spooky factor. I did warn you that the aesthetic would be a bit dark and spooky, loves, but some of you are still shocked at just how much of a Southern Gothic vibe carries through. And I’ve heard rumblings that the antique look of the photos, which seem to be run through the Nashville Instagram filter, do not do justice to B’s typically breezy and sparkling presence. Adapt, dolls, adapt!

I suppose it is tres dark, darlings, but B’s “Letter From The Editor” is rather refreshing:

Sitting down to write this editor’s letter has been the hardest thing I’ve done yet on my Preserve journey. I’m more intimidated than I should probably admit. I’m no editor, no artisan, no expert. And certainly no arbiter of what you should buy, wear, or eat.

I am hungry, though… not just for enchiladas. I’m hungry for experience. I’m comfortable with the knowledge that I’m not a teacher, but rather, a student. I don’t do any one thing perfectly. I do a lot of things though. Some well, some not-so-well.

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel. I’ve been all over the world and all over this country. There’s so much life teeming out of every pocket of this nation. There are people creating magic with their bare hands. Creating things which land at that amazing intersection between art and function.

I’ve found that when approached with a curious spirit, people are kind, they’re generous, they answer, if asked. They’ll often open their doors and hearts and let you in. Because people with wisdom have stories to tell, and want them heard.

Everyone has a story to tell.

The full letter, which you can read here, continues on in the same humble way. She even credits the creation of her site to much more than herself, thanking her team. Can you imagine Gwyneth Paltrow claiming to be anything other than the high priestess of everything on GOOP.com? Me neither.
The site also features a shopping section (yay) which features food products like vegan fudge and smoked salt, as well as articles on summer barbecues and local artisans. I can’t wait to see the seasonal offerings, and really hope she reveals/sells some secret hair products that make her hair sparkle as it does.

So my little domestic goddesses, what say you on B’s new undertaking?  I personally like what the site is aiming for, and I’m thrilled at it’s distinctive lack of GOOP-ness. Were you expecting a little more of B’s inner Serena to come across on the site, though? Or do you love that Preserve is a totally unexpected look from your favorite Upper East Sider?
