The Cannes Film Festival may seem like dignified glamorama, but IRL, if critics don’t like a movie they’ve just been shown they actually boo! Alas, such was the case with Ryan Gosling’s new movie–his directorial debut–a fantasy thriller called Lost River about the decline of Detroit, described on IMDB.com thusly: A single mother is swept into a dark underworld, while her teenage son discovers a road that leads him to a secret underwater town.
My spies in France say critics booed long and loud after the screening, then quickly took to Twitter to condemn his David Lynch-inspired thriller…
Yikes. Personally I think they’re just jealous of Ry’s perfect body, flawless face and incredible personality, don’t you? Or does this movie sound like a serious stinker–Gos or no Gos?
