In “Cross Rhodes” (Season 5, Episode 16), CeCe Rhodes passed away, leaving all of us crying in our Hermes handkerchiefs. The matriarch of the family was loved by many –  including Ivy who took care of her as if she were her own grandmother. So, is this the end of CeCe’s character for good on the show? Not so fast, says Caroline Lagerfelt, who plays her.

In a TVLine interview, Caroline said “there’s always a chance” she could return. “One of my [Twitter] fans said, ‘But that’s not CeCe. That’s her twin sister DeDe!’” she said, laughing. “Flashbacks, ghosts, the twin sister DeDe – with Gossip Girl, you never know.”

Also in the interview, she talked about how much she loved working with Eric Daman, the costume designer for Gossip Girl. She called his creations “as strong a character in the show as any of the actors.” He also made sure CeCe went out in style in her final scene. “He got me the most fabulous earrings to wear. This is dying, Gossip Girl-style,” she said.
