I truly can’t think of anything I hate more than a play–three hours without checking my phone? No thank you–but I may just have to make an exception now that I hear Emma Stone is in talks to play Sally Bowles in the Broadway revival of Cabaret.
Michelle Wiliams is currently starring in the iconic musical, which revolves around a 19-year-old cabaret star and her love affair with a young writer amidst the turmoil of World War 2. Em was going to take the stage last April but movie conflicts forced her to back out. But, it seems she’s getting her second chance!
Although…can Emma sing? I’ve never heard her belt out a tune but I wouldn’t be surprised if she turned out to have a cutely raspy little singing voice. But tell me, my little theater geeks, does it bug you to see already A-list celebrities nabbing on-stage roles over up-and-coming theater stars? Or is all fair in love and Broadway?
