It seems everywhere I look, a new crop of celebs is popping up with super short hair. From Miley Cyrus to Anne Hathaway to Michelle Williams, Hollywood’s leading ladies are chopping off their locks at an alarming rate.
While some of them look chic and sexy, I will remind you that not everyone can pull off the look without taking their femininity away. Be careful! And if you want to go for a fresh new look, maybe follow Leighton Meester‘s lead and go with a short bob.
Check out some pics below to see inspirations of what to do — and what not to do! XOXO
Anne HathawayHaving shaved her head for her role in Les Miserables, she has said that she LOVES her look now that it's grown in and she's gotten used to it. Good for you, Anne darling, for embracing this style. But girls be forewarned: not everyone can rock this look.
Miley CyrusMiley's hacked off hair and shaved sides might be en vogue if she were 1) a (male) German raver in 1995 or 2) a bassist in Fall Out Boy, but alas, she is neither.
Ginnifer GoodwinAnother star to try out the pixie look, but I'm afraid to say that I like her hair with a little more length to it. This super short crop makes her look much more masculine...
Michelle Williams...whereas the short hair on Michelle makes her look chic and sexy.
Lena DunhamThe Girls star is sporting a look that I think is an absolute assault on sexiness and style. While she’s funny and clever, does she have to be so blah? LE SIGH.
Emma WatsonThis is an example of what your pixie cut will grow into when you decide to let it get longer. Emma's hair whether short, long, or in between, is fun and feminine.
Julianne HoughI might not be the biggest fan of her (or her clothes), but I love the side swept short bob she's been rocking lately.
Leighton MeesterThis is a good example of making a drastic change without going too drastic. Leighton chopped off her locks to start fresh after Gossip Girl ended.
