The Gossip Girl Season 4 finale sparkled brighter than S‘s mega-watt smile on the CW Monday night. Recap the best of “The Wrong Goodbye” in seven memorable moments and savor all the signs that Season 5 will be scandalous!

1. Thankfully, Thorpe’s attempt to ruin B’s night was brief…his plan was foiled by C (B’s knight in shining Ralph Lauren), who burst through the door, rescued his Queen and whisked her off to a bar…mitzvah. It just so happens that crashing a middle schooler’s party and dancing the hora is a natural aphrodisiac–a fact B proved by yanking C into an empty room and fulfilling our steamiest Chair fantasies.
2. Sadly, B and C did not opt for the Eliza Doolittle and Freddy Eynsford-Hill approach–they sat the last dance out. C displayed remarkable maturity (how a few sober hours change a man) and reconciled B and her real-life Prince (a Louis a day keeps the drama at bay). As C confided to B,  ”I left the Empire State Building last year after two minutes when you didn’t show. Louis waited all night.” (One moment please, while we wallow in that realization. Our Tiffany diamond dreams for B have just been shattered into a million little pieces.) Truthfully, we’re proud of C for allowing B to private jet into the sunset with her handsome royal and we plan to enjoy every decadent second of it.
3. B and S are so eager to move on to the next big thing that they’ve missed a few red flags along the way…mainly two malicious wannabes wearing less desirable designer shoes. That’s right, girls. There’s a new pair of spicy divas on the Upper East side and no scandal can keep them in line. A Georgina and Charlie pair-up (or should we say Ivy–frankly, no poison has ever looked this delectable)? We’re so there!
4. If only we could all spin a globe and press a finger against our next travel destination. Luckily for C and N, they can. It’s high time that they crawl out of their Upper East man-hole (deluxe penthouse apartments are just not what they used to be) and right into an adventure. Imagine two rich, dashing bachelors gallivanting around the world… Oh please, kind Fates, do let us bump into them along the way!
5. Speaking of besties, how about Lonely Boy finally snagging himself a friend who’s on his intellectual level for once? Dair‘s smooch didn’t pan out, but their mutual love for art house movies will last forever–which means they no longer have to wait for their uncultured peers to wikipedia titles.  Next on their queue is Hal Ashby’s The Landlord. (Copy us on that email chain, Dair. We want in!)
6. S took a much needed “me” break. No more decisions (Nate or Dan? Columbia or Brown? Versace or Dior?) to slow her down. Just S, a bottle of sun block, and a dozen of the best beach reads. (May we recommend 13 Little Blue Envelopes, S? It’s a must-read.) She headed straight for the boardwalk done up like Malibu Barbie,  spotted a Lonely Boy doppelganger trying to plow his way through The Beautiful and the Damned and took to chatting him up faster than Georgina takes to mischief. No, this is not another romantic tryst–unless you count a romance with her favorite novel. The sun for once beamed down on Miss van der Woodsen’s golden highlights without setting them ablaze because at that exact moment ”The Fight” director David O. Russell dropped by and was so impressed by S’s Fitzgerald savvy he offered her an internship on the spot. (Roll out the red carpet, Hollywood, because a starlet’s about to conquer your gleaming hills.)
7. Just as our fave socialites are experiencing a rebirths of sorts, a birth of another variety is about to shake someone’s year like a palm tree in the ocean breeze. On whose well-tressed locks will this coconut-sized shocker fall? Our money’s on B (as in baby mama) but, in true Gossip Girl couture, Manhattan’s an oyster full of potential pearls so we’ll keep guessing until a certain omniscient blogger updates us with the exclusive scoop…
