When I first saw James Franco’s new bald-head-creepy-mustache look, two phrases popped into my mind: It’s fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A! and License and registration please, ma’am.
Neither of those were sayings I ever thought I’d attach to the once-delicious James. But apparently Jamsey is willing to sacrifice sex appeal for cinema.
This new look (the mustache is fake, mercifully, but alas the baldness is not) is all for his new starring role in the the upcoming Zeroville, which centers around a man who is obsessed with movies and makes his way to Hollywood where he ”pursues his obsession with film from one screening to the next and through a series of cinema-besotted conversations and encounters with starlets, burglars, guerrillas, escorts, teenage punks and veteran film editors, only to discover a secret whose clues lie in every film ever made, and only to find that we don’t dream the movies but rather they dream us.”
Um…what? That is a very long description that somehow leaves me more confused. But, whatever this film is about, it sounds thought provoking and pretentious–aka right up James’ alley.
What do you think of his new look? In what role was he the hottest: Tristan and Isolde? Spring Breakers? Spider-Man?
