“You’re like 22 girls in one / And none of them know what they’re running from / Was it just too far to fall for a little paper doll?”
I think we can all pretty much agree that John Mayer
probably most likely definitely wrote his new song “Paper Doll” with ex Taylor Swift in mind. In a typical douchebaggery move, JM whined to Rolling Stone in 2012 about how T.Swizzle’s song “Dear John” was cheap songwriting: “It’s abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, ‘Wait til he gets a load of this!’ It really humiliated me at a time when I’d already been dressed down.” So the fact that he probably most likely definitely wrote this song about his ex as revenge is L.A.M.E.
But after he was asked if the song is in fact about Tay, John replied, “Yeah, songwriters write songs because of people, about people,” he finally said. “Anything someone else wrote is their reception of a song. I don’t get involved with it. It’s none of my business.”
Umm, I still don’t really know what he’s saying here, but I’m going to go with the fact that it’s
probably most likely definitely a confirmation that he wrote it about T.Swift. Don’t you agree?
*Also, that picture of him is from his appearance on the Today Show. Can we talk about what he’s wearing? WTF? I can’t even…. Katy Perry, seriously, what are you thinking?
