Though overshadowed by Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson’s July 5th wedding, music manager Scooter Braun and longtime girlfriend Yael Cohen also celebrated their nuptials this past holiday weekend. The mega music manager, best known for representing Justin Bieber, and his non-profit health organization CEO bride wed in Canada.
Yawn fest, agreed, until some A-List performances went down.
Right after the “I do’s,” Justin Bieber popped up from the crowd to sing The Beatles “All You Need Is Love.” Biebs was accompanied by other musicians seated amongst the guests (so Love, Actually).
A very cute start, but it didn’t stop there. Ed Sheeran and Asher Roth performed Blackstreet’s “No Diggity,” among other songs, during the reception. If you’re going to have a wedding band, you might as well have it led by a Grammy nominee.
Finally, Biebs and Carly Rae Jepsen got the crowd going with Carly’s (one) hit, “Call Me Maybe.” Sure it’s on most everyone else’s wedding “Do Not Play” list, but as Carly is repped by Scooter, it wouldn’t be very nice to leave her out. Granted, she mostly bounced around as a rowdy crowd sang along, but she continues to milk the song (and those bangs) for all they are worth.
On top of the guest performers, VIP guests including Usher and Tom Hanks made the trip up to Canada for the occasion. Tom even took to the stage for a moment to sing Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It,” but it wasn’t pretty. I never thought I’d say this, but get the mic back to Carly Rae Jepsen!
Dolls, while these performances are all well and good, if anyone dare upstage me when I’m a bride, there will be hell to pay. Don’t even think about it, Bieber. XOXO.
