Darlings, my head is spinning over Kendall Jenner’s newest runway look! The Keeping Up With The Kardashians supporting character-turned author-turned model walked in Tuesday’s Chanel Haute Couture show at Paris Fashion Week, and donned a punk-inspired Chanel dress. What to think!? Typically, when Chanel is involved, I’m on board. But when the word “punk” comes into high fashion, I want to scream (such traumatic nightmares after the 2013 Met Gala!). And when Kendall Jenner, or any of the Kardashian-Jenner brood, is involved, I’m decidedly unhappy. Clearly I’m in no emotional state to judge this look.
Just kidding, I’m always in an emotional state to judge. Listen, I get it, runway fashion is always more extreme than what’s on the rack at Barney’s. It’s just so hard to see such punk tones from such a classic label. And a maxi dress in winter colors and materials paired with sandals? And Kendall Jenner legitimizing herself as a model? Just no, loves.
I’m not completely mad at the second look, though. I could see how this will transition into ready-to-wear (minus the exposed long knickers, the sandals and, again, Kendall Jenner).
But again…Kendall Jenner! As a face of Chanel! The girl Instagrams duck-face selfies from backstage! What is this world coming to?
What do you think of Kendall’s Chanel punk look, darlings? And Kendall’s success as a high fashion model in general? Is the world coming to an end?
