WTF Alert: Lady Gaga’s Fake Nail Sells For $13K in Auction

They say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, but who would have thought that a broken nail found on the floor would have been worth $13,000?

I hear that one (that’s right, ONE — not even a whole set) of Lady Gaga‘s acrylic nails was sold in a recent auction, raking in the large sum. The single black nail featuring intricate gold embellishments designed by Aya Fukada had fallen off backstage during Gaga’s concert in Dublin, Ireland, and a crew member found it. At first sight, it looked like a guitar plectrum, but little did they know they had found a mini gold mine.

The winning bidder not only got the nail but other Gaga memorabilia, including a photo of the singer onstage minus the nail in question.

All I have to say is, WTF?! Can you believe someone would actually pay for this?

With many within the technology world saying Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) has stopped innovating while Google’s Android and other rivals are gaining momentum, it’s time for the company to deliver and prove that it is still a dominant player in the increasingly competitive marketplace. The annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), starting on Monday in San Francisco, could be the platform for Apple to regain lost glory

The clashes this week came just before the fourth anniversary of widespread bloodshed in Urumqi, the regional capital of Xinjiang. At least 197 people were killed on July 5, 2009, after the police broke up a protest by Uighurs and the confrontation gave way to attacks by rioters on Han people, who make up China’s majority. Han Chinese protesters later marched on Uighur neighborhoods, some attacking homes with bricks and cleavers. The police never said how many died or were injured in those revenge riots.
