Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) is on the cover of Cosmopolitan Australia’s December 2012 issue! The actress talks about fashion, confidence, and of course the show. Check out some excerpts of the interview and see pictures from the issue below!
On Her Confidence: “If I’m not around close friends or family, I can get quiet and awkward, and it probably comes off as not very nice or just plain weird! It’s not meant to. I try to pull myself out of it but sometimes it’s hard for me to open up. In the past it was easier for me to trust people. Nowadays I judge pretty quickly: ‘You want to be my friend because I’m on a TV show.’ So I have the same friends I’ve always had from way before, and they tolerate how uncool I am. I’m far more confident than I used to be, but the dorkiness is still there.”
On When She Feels Sexiest: “I feel sexy on stage when I’m singing. And I love putting on a record and relaxing in front of the fireplace by myself. Is it weird that I feel sexy on my own? I think that’s OK! As far as clothes go, you can’t go wrong with a black dress, especially if it’s tight and body fitting. Just rock it. That’s what makes me feel sexy: something that shows legs or a little skin.”
On Her Friendship With Blake Lively: “Blake and I talk fashion all the time. We’ll compliment each other, like, ‘I love that bracelet,’ ‘I love those shoes,’ which is what Blair and Serena would do! We’ll talk about jewellery, hair and manicures. Girls can talk about that stuff for hours.”
On The End of Gossip Girl: “I guess it’ll probably be a challenge, for a time, to fight against that character – I won’t get to play an over-privileged girl again any time soon! But I’ll never forget my time on Gossip Girl.”
