Set your DVRs for March 8–or don’t, darlings. Lena Dunham has been tapped to host Saturday Night Live with musical guest The National, who, like Lena’s show Girls, hails from Brooklyn. Not that I would know from experience because I simply do not do borough, but I hear the band is quite good.
But this is a real test for Lena’s skill, don’t you think? Why, she has hours and days and weeks to hone her Girls jokes, but can she keep up on live TV and bring the funny?
I for one hope that the show’s writers don’t make the same mistake they did with Melissa McCarthy, and base all of Lena’s segments around the fact that she’s not exactly a supermodel. But then again, I don’t need to see 90 minutes of gushing over her It Girl status, do you?
Tell me what sketches you’d like to see LD star in, or perhaps impressions you hope she tackles. Or do you think that this actress is totes overrated to begin with?
