Cute or Ew: Lena Dunham’s Dance to Sia’s “Chandelier”

I know it’s only June 10, but Sia’s new song “Chandelier” is already going to be my favorite song of the summer, I can just tell. Not only is the tune amazing but the video! I die!

Well, make that past tense. Thanks to Lena Dunham’s oh-so-hilarious “interpretive dance” to the track last night on Late Night with Seth Meyers, I can no longer watch the real “Chandelier” vid without conjuring an image of Lena twirling around with toilet paper in a seriously unflattering white outfit and blonde wig. LOL?

Take a peek, darlings…

As you know, I do not care for Lena. I find her overrated and in need of some Zoom teeth whitening.  I’m not sure who convinced whom that this little “comedy” sketch was a good idea but to me, it was not so much funny as bizarre and WTF-ish. Did Lena really think she could upstage 11-year-old Dance Moms phenom Maddie Ziegler, who stars in the original vid? It’s akin to parodying a Michael Phelps race by splashing around a kiddie pool. Just no.

But am I letting my ire for Lena cloud my judgement? Did you find yourself giggling at her little sketch or was this just some inside joke that went too far?

totally wtf. Doesn’t she realize that the dancer does not sing? really, really stupid.

  2. Hanna Said:

It really upset me to watch that clip. Sia’s songs are so deep and full of emotions and have gotten me through my worst times… That clip did NOT amuse me, more like disgusted me :P
