Fly Girl years and velour tracksuits aside, I typically trust Jennifer Lopez’s fashion sense (her taste in men: whole other story). That said, I am simply perplexed by her unusual outfit choice for the Atelier Versace Haute Couture fashion show during Paris Fashion Week on Sunday. Not only can I not decide how I feel about the hybrid attire, I can’t even decide what it is! Gown? Pantsuit? Costume?
From the waist up, I love the Versace look. It has clean lines, she accents it with on-point accessories, and the floor-length outfit is flatters her figure beautifully (not that it’s all that difficult to flatter J.Lo’s bod). Waist down, however, the Versace number all falls apart. I’d be willing to overlook the hip-high slit, but I can’t give a pass to the sequined pant leg and prom shoes. Make up your mind, doll: gown or pantsuit (hint: gown).
The off-putting sparkle leg aside, Jennifer does look a vision posing with Donatella Versace. The Italian designer, on the other hand, looks like she’s surpassed even Janice Dickinson when it comes to unfortunate facial adjustments.
What do you think, minions? Can you get on board with this indecisive fashion statement? Or should Donatella have made a few more adjustments before outfitting J.Lo in this creation?
