Overheard at Dan’s Book Party Bust

Poor, Lonely Boy. Success has its price. (Photo: CW)

Growing up, Blair imagined marrying a handsome prince, while Dan fantasized in Brooklyn about making The New York Times Best-Seller’s list. Well, done and (almost) done.

Everyone–even Chuck to an extent–is happy for Blair’s royal dream come true, but too bad the same can’t be said for their Hemingway-in-training-wheels. Dan’s big book launch was all but a bust — but then again, how much fun is always playing by the book? Check out the verbal bombs dropped at Dan’s coming out party.

Derek? Really? I can’t believe I’m not even important enough to merit my own character. -Nate to Dan

I don’t believe a word you say. You said yourself that Dan has no imagination. -Louis to Blair (yes, in front of Dan)

If you can’t tell the difference between what I did to Blair and what I did to you, then maybe your portrayal in the book is more accurate than you thought. -Dan to Serena

Blair and Serena: Did you see what he wrote about me?
Serena: No, I didn’t have time to read all of it—just the parts about me.
Blair: Me too.

Chuck: Coming from experience, everyone loves a villain.
Serena: Yeah, I told Blair the same thing. But then I realized, if that’s true, why are you always alone?
