What if the words “I’m Chuck Bass” came out of the mouth of Penn Badgley as opposed to Ed Westwick? If it were up to Penn, that would have been the case! The actor, who’s starring in the movie Greetings From Tim Buckley told Vulture that his ego wanted to play Chuck.
Now that the show is coming to an end, Penn’s looking forward to doing more movies and perhaps even music. “We’re not counting off the days, but we’re all just like, ‘Wow. We’ve been on this show for so long, and it’s about to end,'” he said. “We’re all in our mid-20s, and we started this show when we were all 19 and 20. It’s weird, honestly, that it’s ending. I think the day after it ends, I’ll wake up and think “Whaaaat am I gonna do now?”
Penn also talked about his scenes with Leighton Meester who plays Blair Waldorf. “I didn’t like how [the characters' relationship] ended, because it was just kind of [draws in breath sharply]. But I do like the scenes with Leighton because I get to kind of interact in a fun way with her. When Dan and Blair are together, I think that’s him at his brightest, maybe.”
So, tell us, do you think Penn would have done a good job playing Chuck Bass or are you happy that Ed landed that role?
