I’m not exactly a fan of poorly written bestseller 50 Shades of Grey nor its upcoming movie, but I am a fan of people being cast in films who can actually act. So I’m tres shocked that British singer Rita Ora has landed a role in the 50 Shades flick as Christian’s adopted sister, Mia.
Rita, either whiten your teeth or stop with the red lipstick. And if you keep dying your hair using Clorox, it’s going to fall out before the snow thaws.
I just don’t understand the Rita Ora hype–who is she supposed to be, anyway? I’ve never even heard her speak and I can’t name one good reason she should be famous. Ugh, it’s like Pippa Middleton all over again. So I’m not thrilled that she’s been cast in the most highly anticipated movie of the decade. But then again, judging by her costars and their equally absent lack of on-screen experience, she should be right at home.
Perhaps producers figured that since stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan both have such questionable talent and scant resumes, why not just fill the film with other poor actors! They can’t very well cast a Meryl Streep alongside Dak and Jamie, now can they?
What do you think of this casting decision? Do you think Rita’s cameo on 90210 and Fast & Furious 6 qualifies her to play Mia? Or will this whole movie end up as the biggest bomb in box office history?
