“The VMAs [are the] one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I’m drawing a line in the sand. F–k you, VMAs.”–Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine didn’t mince words about tonight’s Video Music Awards, and I can’t say I totally disagree with him. Will you be tuning in to watch MTV’s love letter to themselves? Or is your calendar already fabulously full darlings?

Adam is completely right. MTV acts like they care about the music. All year round, the play that CRAP tv, Jersey Shore, or the *I’m too young to have a child* shows. They pay these nobodies to act like slobs who do NOTHING. The only reason they keep the VMAs is for the ratings. It gets crappies every year. What a joke.
I would have to agree with Adam. MTV hasn’t been “music television” for years. As the commenter above said its nothing but trashy reality shows. The only time of day you can actually here music from MTV is the early morning. The VMA’s is nothing but a means to get rating and for the celebs to show off. Half of the so called musicians have auto-tuned their way to success and MTV has done nothing but promote that.

I agree with Adam. MTV isn”t about the music anymore, they”re more about the shows now.

Most of these awards shows are a joke.These folks can’t even string together a sentence (and that’s with the words in front of them on a teleprompter)!! Without people behind the scenes – directors,coaches,etc., these folks are clueless.I prefer to watch post-processed fantasy instead of pre-processed reality!!

hands all over was a GREAT album and maroon 5 not only deserve to be nominated but they deserved to win … and they also shouldve perform.
mtv and z100 and most radio stations dont focus on good rock music anymore. its all about the overplayed mediocre mainstream pop music. ick! .. look justin beiber actually won over chris brown and lil wayne.. lk wtf?! he did not deserve that win. why did nicki won? cause that song happened to be more on the pop side than on the rap side -_-
