We’re counting down the days until the Gossip Girl Season 6 premiere on October 8 at 9/8c by featuring some fan-picked favorite episodes every day until the premiere. There are only 7 more days left! And today, we’re looking at Facebook fan Kailah M.’s favorite episode:
Season 1, Episode 10: “Hi, Society”
“The lines were perfect and the emotion of the episode was amazing. I especially like Rufus saying to Lily … “I should have never let you, let me go.” Not to mention it was shown that Chuck had a heart. “Spotted: Chuck Bass losing something no one thought he had: His Heart.” – Kailah M.
It’s time for the Debutante Ball on the Upper East Side, and Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) desperately doesn’t want to go. Her grandmother CeCe is the chairwoman and her mother Lily is on the committee this year. CeCe says she may have lung cancer and her only wish is to see Serena be presented at the ball. And much to CeCe’s dismay, Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) is planning to escort Serena. CeCe goes to Rufus and offers to buy all of his paintings if he convinces Dan not to take Serena to the ball. He says no, and that’s when she tells him she made Lily decide between him and her inheritance many years ago, and she chose the money.
Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) wants to go to the ball but it’s the same night as her mother’s art show. But she lies and tells Lily she can come and they go shoe shopping together and bump into Alison, who is so upset she forbids her to go to the ball.
Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) asks his ex Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) to the ball for old time’s sake. Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) gets jealous and talks smack about Nate in front of a reporter writing about Blair and then sends a pic of Carter at Blair’s house to Gossip Girl, causing a stir.
Blair’s dress rips, and Jenny repairs it to get back in her good graces. Also, it turns out CeCe doesn’t really have cancer. And Blair is mad at Chuck for tipping off Gossip Girl, so she makes out with Nate, breaking Chuck’s heart.
