Spotted: Taylor Swift looking absolutely divine at Sunday night’s Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. The country diva traded in her usual glitz and sparkles for a sleeker, black and white ensemble on the ACM red carpet. Unfortunately though, there are no style points calculated into the ACM Awards, so the Grammy winner only took home one statue — for “ACM Video of the Year” — out of all five categories in which she was nominated last night.
But who really cares about the awards…right, darlings? Taylor’s new look is a winner on so many levels. To start with, her leg in J. Mendel’s floor-length skirt was extremely slit-worthy, and an absolute show-stopper. The designer’s cutout midriff top even made me reassess my “no exposed abs before Memorial Day” rule. On top of that, Taylor’s look was wrapped up perfectly head to toe with a chic tousled bob and Casadei heels. Finally, kudos to Tay-tay for not adding any more sparkles to the unfortunate sea of glitter that is Las Vegas.
It appears that Taylor’s new Manhattan residency may be rubbing off on her quickly, because the country star looked anything but country bumpkin. That reminds me, I must have one of my minions schedule a lunch for my future BFF and I. In my neighborhood, of course; it takes a lot more than a Grammy-winner to get me to leave the Upper East Side.
What do you think of Taylor’s ACM look?
